About Anoothi Craft Community

Weaving Empowerment Through Craft

Founded in Achrol near Jaipur by Jaimala in 2000, after years with the Vatsalya Foundation, Anoothi began as an initiative to empower women from marginalised and underprivileged backgrounds through craft and livelihood. What started with five women has grown into a collective of over 500 artisans across Rajasthan and neighbouring regions.
Operating units in Achrol and Ajmer, Anoothi’s women artisans practise hand block printing, appliqué, Kantha embroidery, patchwork, tassel-making, and stitching — blending heritage techniques with evolving design sensibilities.
Led by Jaimala, Anoothi creates pathways to financial literacy, fair wages, and self-reliance, transforming India’s craft heritage into a powerful instrument of empowerment.
