About the Craft
Jaipur’s Timeless Craft of Florals
Rooted in the town of Sanganer, near Jaipur, Sanganeri printing is celebrated for its fine lines, delicate florals, and soft colours. The craft flourished under royal patronage in the 16th and 17th centuries, when Sanganer became a thriving centre for textile printing and trade.
Artisans carved motifs inspired by nature, architecture, and temple art. Printed on soft cotton with natural or vegetable dyes, each layer was aligned and stamped by hand.
Generations later, Sanganer remains the heart of Jaipur’s floral legacy.
