Living craft Legacy of Ajrakhpur

Founded by the Khatri family of Ajrakhpur, Gujarat, Khatri Creations continues a legacy that dates back over nine generations of Ajrakh artisans. Known for their mastery of natural dyes and geometric resist printing, the family upholds a craft whose roots trace to the Indus Valley civilization. Under the guidance of master printers from the renowned Khatri lineage, each fabric is hand-printed, washed, and dyed in rhythmic precision, a process that can span up to 20 stages. Working with organic cotton and sustainable methods, Khatri Creations bridges heritage with modern design, ensuring that Ajrakh remains a living expression of craft, colour, and cultural continuity.
