The Pink City

Founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in the 18th century, the city was designed as a home for makers. Every street belonged to a guild, the jewellers of Johari Bazaar, the brass workers of Thatheron ka Rasta, and other craftsmen who gave Jaipur its identity.

From the indigo vats of Bagru and Sanganer to the glaze of blue pottery, craft continues to define the city’s spirit. Designers and artisans work side by side, keeping Jaipur’s legacy alive through craft and innovation.
