As we travelled across India’s craft regions, what unfolded went far beyond textiles or technique — a living world of people, places, and traditions that have quietly shaped India’s cultural identity for centuries. From Kutch to Rajasthan and beyond, generations of artisans, master craftsmen, and community-led organisations continue to preserve this heritage through their craft.
The Experience
Each encounter revealed the depth of India’s craft ecosystem. At some point, we stopped being observers. We sat with the makers, worked with their hands, and began to understand the time, precision, and imagination that define handmade creation. These experiences shaped the foundation of Qriti.
